Being present in the moment can help sustain relationships and a sense of belonging.
Leaving technology behind for a few hours can help alleviate stress such as putting your mobile phone in a draw and talking to your partner rather than endlessly doom scrolling.
Visiting friends or family or rediscovering a past hobby or interest again can also help to separate work from home, so that you truly feel you are on a break and in turn will help to reduce stress and a sense of being in the here and now.
Here at Justina Smith Counselling in Leeds, Yorkshire my in-person clients do not have their phones on during the counselling hour, truly taking time for themselves and a deep sense of feeling and being heard .
